Memphian Moved to Decatur GA!

Lifelong artist and Memphian; moved to Baton Rouge, LA in 2009; and back to Memphis in October 2014, and now in Atlanta GA. I enjoyed the rhythms, creatures, and colors of Louisiana. The wild things there rekindled my passion for nature and earthly things and have influenced my new works. I am now in the gorgeous foothills of the smokies and live amongst the stately trees and wildlife filled woods of the Atlanta area. It is an amazing mix of sights and sounds. One drives the streets, breaking out of a pine forest to see outrageously tall and beautifully designed skyscrapers. It is a feast for the eyes...but my first love is the woods behind our home. Art flourishes here.
I have worn many artistic hats in my life...ranging from set design; medical Illustration; mural painting in addition to working in many mediums and selling art for 45 years. I have taught; managed art stores; participated in many galleries and co-ops; managed the Folklore Store at the Center for Southern Folklore and was booth chair for Cooper Young Festival, a major street festival In Memphis TN with 400 art booths for 20+ years.
Mediums include: digital imagery; oil; acrylic; water color; ink; dimensional works including clay, wood and fabric. I do commercial and gallery art, custom paintings, illustration, graphics, digital photography; mural, dimensional work, and painted furniture. Have had work at Memphis Brooks, Memphis Pink Palace Museum, Delta blues Museum, The US Congress, The National Civil Rights Museum, The Center for Southern Folklore, Louisiana State University Art Museum Gallery Store, and in various venues in TN, GA, MS, FL, NY, DC, LA.
Major projects include faux finishing, murals and custom painting large paddle wheeler boats at Memphis; and custom painting 8 large tiger sculptures for Tigers Around Town Project for the University of Memphis.
I have been published in the Commercial Appeal; Memphis Business Journal; Memphis Magazine; Memphis Lamplighter; The Advocate Baton Rouge for articles on Mid-City Hot Night Cool Art Events; featured interviews: WHBQ TV, WMC TV, WREG TV, WKNO Public radio; featured in Rose and Thorn Online Literary Journal Art Gallery; Memphis Walking Tours; chosen for The Lascaux Review, photo spread in Portland Monthly Magazine, Portland ME and winner in photographic competition Nov 2013 by Country Roads Magazine, St Francisville LA.
Member: Memphis Arts Collective; Memphis Artist Link; Memphis~Germantown Art League; Feliciana Photo Shoot FB; Louisiana Photographic Society..
