Barred Owl at Chattahoochie Nature Center. This gorgeous owl lost an eye when hit by a car. I have several images of this one and the hawk. It is a profound experience to gaze eye to eye at these rulers of the forest and the skies they claim. It makes me sad to think they will never feel the air under their wings again. But they are well cared for and would not be alive had it not been for center. There is so much good in that. Despite his eye situation...this is still a magnificent and stately bird.
